Many train companies offer compensation if your train is delayed by more than 30 minutes.
When compensation is not available
You usually won’t get compensation if:
Your train was cancelled and you didn’t travel
👉 In this case, request a refund instead. The delay was due to a planned disruption, strike, or emergency timetable.
The delay was caused by factors outside the rail company’s control (e.g. extreme weather).
⚠️ Compensation rules vary by train company.
