Trainline lets you pay for selected journeys in 10 different currencies:
GBP (£), USD ($), AUD (A$), CAD (C$), CHF, SEK, EUR (€), DKK, NOK, and JPY.
We’ll automatically show you the currency that’s most relevant to where you are — but you can change it anytime.
How to change your currency
On our website:
Use the currency switcher in the dropdown menu at the top of the homepage.
On our apps:
Go to your Account Settings and select Currency.
On our mobile website:
Open the menu at the top of the homepage and choose your preferred Currency.
Refunds when paying in another currency
If you’re eligible for a refund and you paid in a currency different from the train operator’s currency, any refund fees will be calculated:
in the currency you used to pay, and
using the exchange rate from the time you bought the ticket.
Paying with a card in a different currency
If your credit or debit card is linked to an account in a different currency than the one you choose to pay in:
your bank may charge extra fees (for example, currency conversion commissions), and
if you later request a refund, the amount you receive may be affected by exchange rate changes between purchase and refund.
Saved tickets and exchange rates
If you used our Save for later feature:
The price you see reflects the most recent exchange rate.
The rate may have changed since the ticket was originally saved.
The price at checkout will always be the final price, including any exchange rate updates.
