đź§ľ What is the Swiss Travel Pass?
The Swiss Travel Pass is a single ticket for tourists living outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
It lets you travel unlimited by train, bus, or boat across Switzerland for a set number of days, and includes free or discounted entry to over 500 museums and attractions.
🔹 Seat reservations are required for some premium panoramic trains and are not included with the pass.
🎟️ Which pass should I choose?
On Trainline, you can buy:
Swiss Travel Pass – valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 consecutive days.
Swiss Travel Pass Flex – travel on any days you choose within 1 month.
Swiss Half-Fare Card – get 50% off train, bus, and boat tickets for 1 month.
You can also choose between 1st Class (more comfort) and 2nd Class (cheaper option).
đź‘§ Are there discounts for children or young people?
Children under 6 travel for free.
Children 6–16 travel for free with a Swiss Family Card, when at least one parent holds a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half-Fare Card.
Children travelling alone get 50% off a Swiss Travel Pass.
Travellers under 25 get 30% off their Swiss Travel Pass.
🔓 How do I activate my pass?
Swiss Travel Pass (consecutive days): You’ll receive your pass as a PDF – no activation needed.
Swiss Travel Pass Flex: You’ll receive a receipt by email. Before you travel, activate each travel day at activateyourpass.com.
Each travel day is valid until 5am the following morning.

đź’ş How do I reserve seats?
Seat reservations for panoramic trains are mandatory and come with an extra cost.
You can book directly on the SBB website (usually available up to 3 months before travel).
đź’¶ Refunds
Passes are fully refundable if cancelled before the first day of validity.
Once activated, refunds are only possible in case of illness or accident, with supporting documents.
Lost or stolen passes can’t be refunded or replaced.
