Digital tickets let you travel without printing or queueing at the station.
Depending on your route, you’ll receive an eticket, a Mobile Ticket, or an sTicket, all of which can be scanned directly from your phone.
Booking in our app makes it even easier — all your tickets are stored in one place.
📧 etickets (PDF)
An eticket is a PDF attached to an email.
You can open it on your phone, add it to your wallet, or forward it to another traveller.
🛠️ How to use an eticket
Open the email with your PDF tickets (this is separate from your booking confirmation)
If you like, add the eticket to the Trainline app or Apple Wallet
Scan the QR code at the ticket gate or show it to staff
👥 Group bookings
Each traveller can open their own PDF
GroupSave etickets: everyone must travel together
📱 Mobile Tickets
A Mobile Ticket is a digital ticket you use directly in the Trainline app.
You must activate the ticket before travelling.
Mobile Tickets cannot be shared or used on multiple devices.
🛠️ How to use a Mobile Ticket
Open the Trainline app → My Tickets
Tap your ticket to Activate it just before you travel
Scan the QR code at the gate or show it to staff
👥 Group bookings
All tickets appear in the lead passenger’s app

🔐 sTickets (Season Tickets)
An sTicket works like an eticket but uses a dynamic barcode for extra security.
It is mainly used for digital Season Tickets.
You can buy sTickets on web or app, but they can only be used in the app.
🛠️ How to use an sTicket
Open the app → My Tickets
Download your Season Ticket to bind it to your device
Tap View ticket to generate a QR code for gate scanning
